The Wigamalefis part 15: Headquarters A No More Fakes Story (Wednesday, January 15) The station brought back too many memories of the day after Halloween. The first day I was a wigamalefis. A real wigamalefis. Well, I think that's the first time. I can never remember who I am really supposed to be: Will or Wiggy. Sandy was in another room. I could see her through the large glass windows. She was being asked questions by an officer. "Mr. Harryman, do you know why we brought you here?" the chief asked me. He sat down in his comfortable chair behind his desk. I took out my trusty pad of paper and wrote, "Something to do with Kerry." The chief nodded. "Good. That's exactly why you are here." He leaned forward. "Would you rather me call you something besides Mr. Harryman?" I nodded. I didn't like being called Mr. Harryman. Even when it was my name. I glanced at the note I made for myself that Dr. Meyer told me to do. It said, "You are Wiggy." I wrote "Wiggy" on my pad and showed the chief. "Oh, OK, Wiggy," he looked confused he must know me by Will. "You can call me Jim." I'm going to have to get everyone straightened out about that. Maybe if everyone called me Wiggy, I would know who I was. Maybe Wiggy would actually surface. No telling where my consciousness came from or where Wiggy's went. "Wiggy, what do you know about Jerry. I mean Kerry?" I jotted down that he broke into my house and accidentally shot himself with a project I was working on and turned himself partially into a wigamalefis. Then he came back later and turned into some strange creature. Jim nodded. "I see. That's just what Kerry said." I was shocked. Kerry was able to say something. I guess my confusion was obvious to Jim. "We found someone who was the Raucous Chicken as a wizard. He was able to change him back," Jim explained. I nodded. That strange feeling came again. "Wiggy, what we really want to know is why you built the machine that did that to Kerry." I wrote down on my pad about how I needed to change back into a human so Will would have his body back. I glanced down and saw the note I had made for myself. It said that I was Wiggy. I knew it said that I was Will just a while ago. This must be what the Doctor was talking about. I made a mental note to check the paper more often. Well, at least I knew that I was myself. I quickly scratched out what I had written for Jim and put down that I had thought that until Dr. Meyer told me who I really was. "I see," he said doubtfully. "But, Jerry, I mean Kerry wasn't a human. He was some.... thing." I let out a grunt as I nodded. I wrote down, "I don't know what happened. Project F wasn't finished yet." "Well, it won't be finished in a while," Jim said. "We confiscated it." I jumped up from the chair. "That was MY project! You have no right!" I growled in Wigamalefish. Of course, Jim couldn't understand a word I was saying. "Calm down, Wiggy. You can get it back once we decide that it isn't a safety risk." I sat back down in my chair still grumbling. It was a good thing that the chief couldn't understand what I was saying. Jim glanced down at some papers at his desk, "Now, where did you--" A police officer burst into the office. "Chief! There's a situation!" he said. Suddenly he fell to all fours. His skin turned orange as his body reformed. A creature similar to what Kerry turned into was in the officer's place. Except that his teeth weren't sharp and he didn't have large claws on his feet. The creature looked around confused and ran off with the police uniform still hanging off his body. Jim jumped up and closed the door. I fell to the floor. Jim peered up out the large window. Kerry was standing there with Project F. He pointed the device threateningly at all the other people in the outer office. "No one does anything! Got it?" Kerry said. He looked at the orange creature that was formerly the officer. "I just want to live my life as one of those creature. But, everyone just keeps ruling my life! Just leave me alone, people!" "Sir, calm down," one of the officers said. Kerry's face twisted angrily. "See there you go. Telling me what to do. What if I don't want to calm down?" He pointed Project F at the man threateningly. The man backed up against the wall. Kerry slowly edged his way through the room heading for the front doors. As he passed the window of the chief's office, he glanced in. He saw me. "You!" he shouted. He slung the door open and rushed in. He kept the device ready to shoot and grabbed my arm. "I want you to zap me with this," he said. I looked questioningly at him. He spoke slowly, "I want you to zap me. I want to be that creature or something. I don't want to be human anymore." Jim was next to his desk, "Sir, if you would--" Kerry swung the device to aim at Jim. "Shut up! I don't want to be a part of this miserable species any longer! Now, zap me." He shoved Project F into my arms. I stood there with my project in my hands. Kerry backed up. "Zap me!" he yelled. I just stood there. Police were instantly on top of him carrying him back to the cell. "ZAP ME!" he screamed as he struggled with the officers. He really wanted to be that creature. But, he had attacked me the last time. However, the officer he zapped wasn't the same type of creature. He seemed gentle. "ZAP ME!" I watched Kerry get taken out of the office. He continued to struggle. Police were holding him tight. "ZAP ME! WIGGY! PLEASE!" He stared at me with his pleading eyes. He had stopped struggling enough for most of the officers to break off. He was being lead down the hall. I zapped him and lowered the device. I walked back into the office and plopped down in my chair. "Why did you zap him?" Jim said running back into his office after watching Kerry's transformation. I picked up my pad and wrote, "Just leave him alone. Let him live his life as whatever he is now." I handed the paper to Jim. "Will, you're all right!" Sandy yelled running into to office and giving me a huge hug. "I was so scared." I grunted an exhausted grunt. She hugged me tighter. I heard a yip/hiss. I looked down and saw a similar creature that the officer had become sitting on its haunches staring at me. It had the remains of Kerry's clothes. I pointed him out to Sandy. She gasped and then walked over to Kerry with her hand held out. He licked her hand. "He's sorta cute," she said. "In a strange creature kind of way." To Be Continued.....
